Awards
Standard & Poor’s Financial Communications was honored with five Magnum Opus Awards, which are presented each year by Publications Management newsletter in conjunction with the Missouri School of Journalism. The Magnum Opus program recognizes excellence in all areas of custom publishing — from strategy to editorial and design. The nearly 700 entries submitted in this year’s international competition were judged by a panel of professors from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism as well as select custom publishing professionals. Among the awards received were:
Grand Prize for Print External Newsletter: John Hancock there
Grand Prize Runner-Up for Print External Newsletter: PNC Directions
Gold Award for Best Overall Editorial: Glenmede Perspectives

S&P Financial Communications received a Silver Inspire Award for our work on Wells Fargo's 401(k) plan participant newsletter, Advantages, for the second year in a row. A record 375 entries were received by the League of Communications
Professionals, which sponsors the annual awards in recognition of excellence in employee communications. Advantages won a silver award for overall excellence, earning a perfect "10 out of 10" in creativity, message clarity, employee focus, and perceived relevance.

In conjunction with Wells Fargo Retirement Solutions, S&P Financial Communications earned 2nd and 3rd place Inspire
Awards for excellence in employee communications. The winning
entries, Wells Fargo's 401(k) plan participant newsletter, Advantages, and plan sponsor newsletter, fyi,
received Silver and Bronze awards, respectively. Advantages scored a perfect 10 with judges in artwork, readability, creativity,
variety of features, and employee focus, while fyi earned
similarly high scores throughout.

Three
different awards were presented to Financial Communications
for work in Promotional Product Design and in the category
of best design for Company Web Site. The product categories
featured promotional brochures for Standard & Poor's Net
Advantage and The Stock Guide. The two took prizes for their
creative approach to layout and their effective messages.
Our very own fc.standardandpoors.com
took a prize for leading design in a company Website. These
awards bring together three consecutive years of awards from
the Design USA for Standard & Poor's submissions.
